Role Overview:

We are on the lookout for an experienced and visionary Director of Software Engineering to lead our ambitious software development team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the architecture design and product development, perform R&D on new use-cases, establishing best practices, and lead and grow the tech team.

We are seeking someone with a strong background in software development (preferably with a SaaS product company) and a genuine interest in Generative AI.

Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Define and steer the company’s tech vision in alignment with business goals.
• Innovation and R&D: Lead research and development in AI, focusing on cutting-edge solutions.
• Product Excellence: Oversee product development, ensuring quality, relevance, and timely delivery.
• Team Development: Build and mentor a high-performing tech team.
• Risk and Compliance: Manage technological risks and ensure adherence to best practices and regulations.
• Budget Efficiency: Oversee tech budget, focusing on cost-effective investments.
• Scalability Focus: Ensure the infrastructure is scalable and robust for growth.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Effectively communicate tech strategies to stakeholders and partners.
• Customer-Centric Approach: Prioritize technologies that meet customer needs and solve real-world problems.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in creating beautifully written optimized code for frontend, backend, and databases.
• A Computer Science related degree is a plus.
• Proven experience and deep technical knowledge of Python back-end frameworks (Django or Flask), frontend frameworks (React or Angular), databases (SQL and NoSQL), Cloud (GCP, Azure, AWS), RESTful APIs, and version control systems (Git).
• Demonstrated interest in Generative AI with hands-on experience in implementing AI models is highly preferred.
• Experience of leading and mentoring a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues independently.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively within a team.
• Self-driven, motivated, and proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced startup environment.
